Amihan Entertainment is a Los Angeles game studio founded by veterans of Riot Games, Blizzard, and King, building next-generation interactive entertainment with blockchain-based player economies and a relentless focus on craft.

AAA talent rarely walks into Web3 gaming, which is why Amihan Entertainment caught our attention immediately. Founded in Los Angeles in 2021 by Naomi McArthur, Kenneth Liu, and Paul Loy, the studio brings together veterans of Riot Games, Blizzard, and King, three of the operators that defined modern competitive, blockbuster, and mobile gaming respectively. The mandate is to build next-generation interactive entertainment in which blockchain-based economies serve the game, not the other way around.

That ordering is the whole thesis. Most blockchain games of the last cycle started with a token and reverse-engineered a game around it, which is why so many failed to retain players. Amihan starts with the craft: gameplay, progression, art direction, live operations. Player ownership and on-chain economies enter as features that deepen long-term engagement, not as the reason the game exists. It is the discipline you only get from teams who have shipped at scale.

For Fulgur, this fits the broader thesis that Bitcoin-aligned gaming will be defined by studios that can hold both standards: AAA production values and open, programmable economies. Lightning and Bitcoin-native infrastructure offer a uniquely neutral substrate for those economies, free of the platform-fee dynamics that constrain even the largest publishers today. The opportunity is to build games that players love and value flows that players actually own.

We partnered with Amihan in 2021. The bet is straightforward: back the people who already know how to make hits, and give them room to rebuild the economic layer underneath. That is how a category-defining Web3 studio actually gets built.
