Fulgur Ventures welcomes Wizardsardine, the Portugal-based Bitcoin security team behind Revault and Liana. They build advanced custody software using timelocks and miniscript, expanding what self-custody and institutional vaults can safely do.

Welcoming Wizardsardine to the Fulgur portfolio. Founded in 2020 by Kevin Loaec and Antoine Poinsot and based in Angra do Heroismo, Portugal, Wizardsardine is one of the most technically respected Bitcoin security companies in the ecosystem. The team ships two flagship products: Revault, an institutional-grade multisig custody architecture, and Liana, a self-custody wallet that uses Bitcoin timelocks to give every user a built-in recovery path.

Liana solves a problem that has haunted Bitcoin since the beginning: what happens if you lose your keys, or your heirs cannot access your coins. By combining miniscript with timelocked spending paths, Liana lets users design vaults where a backup key automatically becomes spendable after a pre-defined delay. It is recovery without trusted third parties, and it represents one of the most thoughtful applications of Bitcoin script we have seen in production.

Wizardsardine maps cleanly onto our security thesis. Antoine is a long-time Bitcoin Core contributor whose work on miniscript and policy has shaped the protocol itself, and Kevin brings rigorous product thinking from years building Bitcoin custody. Together they translate deep protocol expertise into user-facing tools, expanding what is possible at the wallet layer without compromising the conservative engineering culture Bitcoin demands.

Our market vision: Bitcoin scripting will quietly unlock a generation of safer custody products. Timelocks, miniscript policies, and emergency keys will become standard features in serious wallets, replacing brittle seed-phrase backups with structured recovery. Wizardsardine is years ahead on this curve, with both retail and institutional offerings already deployed and a research output that benefits the entire ecosystem.

We are delighted to support Kevin, Antoine, and the Wizardsardine team as they push Bitcoin custody decisively forward.
