Fulgur Ventures invested in SVORT, a neural-biometric authenticator that converts a user's face into an anonymous biometric code. The technology secures access to private data, accounts, and Bitcoin wallets without storing identifiable images or seed phrases.
Investment announcement: SVORT. Founded in 2019 by Eugene Mintsevich and headquartered in Wilmington, SVORT is a neural-biometric authenticator that turns a user's face into an anonymous biometric code. Rather than storing photos or templates, SVORT generates a deterministic, privacy-preserving signature that can unlock private data, login flows, and Bitcoin wallets without exposing the underlying biometric to any server.
Today's authentication landscape is broken. Passwords are stolen, SMS codes are SIM-swapped, and many biometric providers store sensitive face or fingerprint data on centralized servers. SVORT takes a different path. By transforming biometric input into an irreversible, anonymized code that lives only with the user, the company offers a security primitive that aligns with the self-sovereign principles Bitcoiners already demand from their wallets and keys.
SVORT fits our security thesis from a less obvious angle. Beyond hardware wallets and multisig, the long-term safety of Bitcoin depends on identity and access controls that do not leak data or rely on fragile centralized providers. Eugene's team is solving a foundational layer that any consumer or enterprise Bitcoin product can plug into, replacing brittle login flows with a biometric proof that respects user privacy by default.
Our market vision: as Bitcoin and digital identity converge, users will demand authentication that is at once frictionless and uncompromising on privacy. Centralized biometric databases are increasingly seen as liabilities, not assets, by both users and regulators. Privacy-first neural biometrics offer a credible alternative, and SVORT has been quietly building the research and engineering depth required to lead in this category.
We are excited to support SVORT as it builds the next generation of human-centric, privacy-preserving authentication.
